Hamlet of Tulita - S16Q-003
- All maps from Natural Resources Canada
The Hamlet of Tulita is planning to excavate and haul gravel from the existing Little Bear River Quarry, starting in January 2017. The intent of this project is to acquire granular material (approximately 30,000 m3 per year) for the purpose of stockpiling within the Hamlet for a number of community based infrastructure projects over the next 3-5 years. The quarry is located approximately 18 kilometers west of Tulita on the south side of the Mackenzie River, 3 km upstream of the confluence of the Little Bear River and Mackenzie River. In order to access the site, a winter access road will be constructed from the Mackenzie Valley winter road to the quarry. This is the same route used by the Department of Transportation to access the quarry from 2009 to 2013 under the Land Use Permit S08Q-009.
